The picture below is of Prince Philip (the Duke of Edinburgh)

    phil.jpg

When I become old, senile and a burden to those around me, I hope I can retain enough character to insult as many people as possible before I get so old that I start decorating the walls with my own feces.

In 1986 while visiting China, he told a group of Scottish students in the city of Xian that Beijing was "ghastly" and said that if one of the students stayed in China too long, he would return to Scotland with "slitty eyes."
Prince Philip is a big fan of the Internet, but recently complained that he was inundated with gay porn whilst searching for his wife's web site. It never occurred to him that typing the word "queen" into a search engine doesn't always return a list of monarchs!

And just yesterday, a child approached him and said he wanted to be an astronaut - "you're a bit too fat to be an astronaut", quipped the Prince - putting that child firmly in his place.

I myself was ALMOST shot into space. However, my father didn't pull out of my mother in time - otherwise I would have been smile.gif

Not bizzare...just clever enough to post something that manages to fit into both Humor and Humanities forums....lol Hugo, plyd biggrin.gif

We should start a Prince Phillip Gaffes thread in the Humor forum...that'd make for a long string of anecdotes I'd wager smile.gif

I think the phrase used was, "Looks like it was put in by a bloody Indian!".

Not that I want to defend the daft old trout, but I had a discussion about this before with someone, and they maintained that because he's an old coot he could have got confused about the use of the word "cowboy" to describe someone renouned for shoddy workmanship and substituted "indian" instead.

(I mean, would you even let him have the remote control?)

It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

And while feeding apes in GiIbraltar, surrounded by the press: Which are the apes, and which are the press?"

I could spend all day on search engines (try it yourself), some are repeats but, my they are gems.

Leaping to defence of the Monarchy, he embodies the one advantage they have over politicions. The ability to give a straight no nonsense/nonspin answers. Even it is at times bordering on the insane smile.gif

I met a cousin of mine that I never met before yesterday. She is from Australia. And she is gorgeous. I mean a total babe. So I think ... and then I think about Prince Philip and I think .. no.
