Setanta PPV

    does anyone know when Setanta are starting their PPV channel on the Sky epg,I would like to be able to watch some rugby games

    Interesting, at this hour, channel 429 is viewable without subscription.. I'm not aware of any Setanta PPV channel showing rugby, bar the current Setanta Sports channel, that is subscription on Sky, but free to subscribers on NTL.

    Setanta PPV 435 436 seem to be more time off air than on. Seems a waist of money paying for epg space. But they did show cricket recently. And i think i would rather watch paint dry than watch that sport.

    rugby is not on setanta PPV, things like Boxing and Wrestling are, and Armageddon in December was on it

    Some other crap on setanta PPV...

    The unity cup during last summer (Ireland, Jamacia and Nigeria from London) something like €14.99 per game!
    All Ireland hurling and football finals (guess its handy for people outside of Ireland)
    Australia V India test cricket from India. Again something like €20 per day
    Hearts in the Uefa cup group stages. €14.99 per game

    yeah i remember that unity cup crap, such a wast of money!

    Setanta is sweet though on NTL, free and loadsa rugby, scottish AND elglish footie!

    they show PPV events to viewers around the globe
    their main market is pubs and clubs

    see here for what they show in their various markets

    Their main market is changing direct to home:

    UK: SPL Live (sub), Rangers TV (sub), Celtic TV(Sub), NASN (sub), GAA PPV, Cricket PPV plus the pub market.

    IRL: Setanta Sports, NASN plus the subscription channels above.

    Europe: Pub market plus NASN Germany

    USA: Setanta Pub Channel plus Rugby/Soccer/GAA via pub network and direct to home.

    Australia: Mainly GAA and rugby through pubs and clubs.

    They also show the cricket and GAA on broadband via www.setanta.tv
