Just curious if people are put off by the disaster that has recently effected Thailand.

Im booked to go back on the 14th of June and I can't wait to go I was not planning on visiting phuket originally but I will certainly be going down now because it is very quiet there at the moment and they rely on tourism so much.

I am very dissapointed that Phi Phi is now gone because that was probably my favourite location in Thailand but maybe the development will come along way in the next few months and the island will be operational again.

    Mark.

    Hiya,
Yeah i definitly plan on going back at some stage, prob not till 06 though. Phi Phi was my fave place too so I defo have to go back at some stage. It'll be weird seeing it now after the tsunami though. On sky news last week they were filming inside Apache bar which was pretty weird, the place was wrecked. The place we were staying was in bits too, its so sad. Really wanna go back and see it again though. I was only in Phuket for a day last summer so didnt know it too well but I'll probably visit there at some stage again too.

Yeah i fell down those steps on many occasions myself :) I stayed in the little hut/apartment things behind Hippies bar. As far as I could see on sky news they are all gone too. I'd say hippies bar is defo gone since it was made purely from wood, and being right on the beach wouldnt help either i imagine. Its horrible thinking of how it is now.
That charlie place was pretty cool. Their buffet nights were yummy! first time we had brocolli in weeks! :) ah the memories... :)

Yeah the hippies bar was cool and another one to be sad about is the rolling stone bar they had a great band when I was there.

Yeah we went there one night too. The band were ace. We went to see a band like them in Chang Mai. They were an Asian band but the lead singer sounded the EXACT same as Delorous O Riordan (cant spell her name, sorry :) ). They were brill.
