    Freeroll last night.
I have ~25000. Blinds 200/400..I'm in small blind with 89s. Three limpers, I call, big blind checks.

    Flop comes Q 10 X rainbow
    Checked around
Turn is another blank and it's checked around again.

River is a J. Giving me the ignorant end of the straight.

    I bet 3/4 the pot.
Folded to button who goes all in for 10000.

Button has played every single hand. Has made some atrocious calls, and showed nothing but muck all night.
    Advice!!?!?!?!?Thanks

    EASY FOLD??????

Tough one. A good player would never raise here without AK, unless it was a bluff, but a freeroll player could have 9 K or 2 pair. You said he made some atrocious calls, but even bad players know to raise with the nuts on the river, and he might not of raised preflop with AK. I think I would probably lay it down.

    My 2c:

If he's ahead, he's either on: AK or K9.
He would have raised pre-flop (or post flop on the button with no raises) with AK, right?

Which leaves K9 as the only hand you need to be afraid of..

If you figured him for a solid tight agressive player, you'd put him on K9.
But, you've already said that he's loose and weak.

I'd call. But you probably did, and lost to AK, which is why you made this post in the first place, right?

could have AK, but then unless he has a dislike of AK* and never bets it, would u have heard a raise preflop with this hand?

**reg poker players either hate this hand and fold it regularly or see it as a fairly good hand ***some ppl only ever consider playing if its AKsuited

for 10000 from a bad player is prob worth calling (to see what they have :D )

If hes a solid tight aggresive player then neither would he play K9 in the 1st place, and he certainly wouldnt raise with it here.

From the tone of your post and the fact that you posted I can only guess that he was playing K9 or AK but I'd call. I'd smell an overvalued 2 pair probably or slow played trips but from what you say he's probably not good enough to slow play stuff...

    DeV.

    Thankas.

Sorry, I neglected to divulge: He would have raised with AK...(also with 94o)

I called in a heartbeat he turned over K9.
I think this was a terrible call now. There was only about 1600 in the pot. My bet was only ~1000. I was in a v. healthy chip position...

I think he would have just raised with 2 pair.

If I was getting 2:1 on my money then maybe this is a call...But not in that situation.

Don't go broke in an unraised pot eh!!! Ah well got a ticket anyway :D

True (but he might play it on the button). He didn't raise.

theres such a great mix of people at these freerolls but sometimes you can get bad ones like at my table last night(number 2), this really highstrung small foreign lad, who was shaking like a leaf every time he raised, he knocked me out at around 12 when he hit a 2 outer on the river to send me home talking to myself, he had called a massive pre flop raise of 8,000 with a pair of fives, against my pocket queens and another guys AK, he had a MASSIVE stack when i left, but he was a horrendous player, playing anything and everything, he was most definitely a calling station :/

If hes a bad player in general than that all-in raise is the biggest sign that hes hit a monster. Bad players are not too up on how to make strong hands pay and massively overbet them. Sometimes they get paid :)
On the other hand good players often over bet good hands to represent weaker hands. You would only do this against a good player. Similar to bluffing really.

This remind me of a hand I played yesterday. I had AA10Jdouble suited pot limit $1 $2 omaha. Im on the button. There is a raise and 3 callers and I make it 40$ to go. All of us have big stacks. 4 Callers. Flop is all low hearts, I have none. Its checked to me, I check. Turn is a K. We all check. River is another K. Checked to the guy beside me who bets 2$. I think its worth $2 to see what his hand is (actually I considered going all in) so I call. All the others call as well. He has KK for quads, and had flopped the nut flush as well. Theres a silence at the table and then I write, very well played. He says "ty"

i'm speechless!, he made an extra 6$ extra on that pot..and he's pleased with himself!!

as a matter of interest, how would you have played the hand after the river Hector if you were the guy with quads??

a reckon a bet of half or 1/3 the pot, it might look like a "fúck this i'm not checking again" bet / steal and you should get called, reraised if someone has anything...

in the freeroll game poeple tend to get rushes of blood to the head when they hit a good hand, it was a tough one AF, i would have probable folded, but then again i didn't get a ticket last night, well done!

Its a 160$ pot If I was going to bet small I would bet at least $50, and thats only in this case where it looks like nobody has anything. I would probably bet 120$/130$ as thats what I would bet as a bluff.
