A second round of rioting erupted in Bradford last night. This time white youths decided to trash some Asian businesses in the Holmewood area of the city. Now what do you think the police should have used to dispel the mob? Tear gas, water cannon, rubber bullets perhaps?

NO!!

My friend lives there and he told me that a convoy of 50+ police riot vans were trundling up and down the main road most of the night with the side doors open and MUSIC being played over the van's PA system! And this is the god's honest truth:

They played "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" (Righteous Brothers) on the way down the road and "Everybody Needs Somebody" (Blues Brothers) on the way back up the road. Now THAT'S comedy you could NEVER write!

That'll teach those right wing motherfcukers eh?

Hmmm I wonder if those "youths" would be rioting if the English Police used Swedish tactics (gun them down!).

Sounds like Political Correctness gone mad. Nothing like a good old baton charge followed up with a good dousing from a water cannon to stop a riot!

The point of the music is to calm people down. It's been used a few times in the states in seiges and such like. Better to try the non-leathal methods first eh?
