Simple question I guess. Time to upgrade from an ATI 9200SE 128MB

    Should I go for:
    Sapphire Radeon 9600PRO Advantage 256MB AGP, ATI9600PRO, DVI-I, TV-Out, Full-Ret http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=302976&cks=PRL
    or
    Sapphire Radeon 9800SE Advantage 256MB AGP, ATI9800SE, DVI-I, TV-Out, Lite-Retail http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=305188&cks=PRL

They are both 256MB, but what does the "lite-retail" do to me.
    There's a price difference of €15

    Cheers in advance

The 9600 is PRO Advantage though. What does this entail?

With the Sapphire Radeon 9800SE Advantage 256MB AGP you might get lucky and be able to unlock the other 4 pipes on it.

Was looking at some reviews online for the 9800, according to http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/reviews/video/Sapphire_9800SE_7.html,
You can get a 9600 Pro, which will perform better for less than the cost of the 9800SE

    So what do you think?

    A 9800 is about the same a 9700pro. A 9800se is a good bit slower.

SE doesn't mean it's better than a normal 9800, it means it's worse. I can't remember what the SE stands for off the top of my head.

    S.E. = special edition.

Was quickly nicknamed Sh it Edition :-)

9600s are fairly cheap i got one for 80 from komplett last month. does the job grand, but a 9800 SE is way better!

    Are you sure?

Should I go for the 9600 or 9800?

Its a very close race but the 9600Pro beats the 9800SE in the majority of the tests. But only by 1-2 FPS. :D

lol, that's even better than the story I heard about the GLS delivery guy taking all the computer bits out of the box and putting them through the recipients letterbox! :D

Well, I got the card today, but there's problems all around. It was something in the background before, but I thought a new card might fix it. Maybe you can help me here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=219291
