How to get a group to Liverpool?

I was just wondering what's the best way to get a group to Liverpool?

I have to help organise my class trip there. We're going on the weekend of February 18th - leaving Friday, back on the Sunday. Once we get there it's no problem - getting there is the main hurdle.

I don't think the ferries will take us on as foot passengers! Anyone know how much it'd be to get a couple of coaches (there's 125 of us going approx). We're just after the cheapest way there. There's pretty good deals on the airlines websites but I can't book, say, 125 people together.

Any ideas? We're just after the cheapest way there...

With the airlines you'd probably want to organise it through a travel agents - see if they can come up with a price for you...

There is a foot passenger boat service that lands right at the dock by the town centre, don't have the time to look up a web link for you at the moment but it's there somewhere. It'd probably be the same people if you're going by bus unless you want to go via hollyhead so again it'd be a good idea to speak directly to the company with such a large group.

Bus Eireann do Dublin - Liverpool for €34 return via Irish Ferries although it is overnight and the arrival in Liverpool is (Slightly!) early at 03.30 am.

Even if you were to go for that they would need to be able to put on 2 extra coaches, I am not sure they can.

All the ferry companies take foot passengers and group bookings are not usually a problem for them, ferries are rarely close to passenger capacity these days.
Seacat used to do a direct Dublin - Liverpool service by fast ferry but atm they only do Dublin - Isle Of Man and IOM - Liverpool http://www.seacat.co.uk/SeaCat/homepage

P&O do Dublin - Liverpool daily but not for foot passengers, it is mainly a freight service but they might take coaches also. It is an eight hour sailing so Dub - Holyhead and coach to Liverpool would be as quick and probably more tolerable. http://www.poirishsea.com/index.htm
Rail from Holyhead for 125 extra people might be problematic as the trains on the route are low capacity and can be pretty full with regular traffic.

If you are going to get on an airline you need to start ringing them up now.

Coach hire will also require some advance planning so start ringing round now, for that many people you will need 3 coaches and I would suggest you don't go with cowboy outfits, someone who is used to dealing with overseas travel would be preferable.
