Summer work in Sweden

    Me and a friend are planning on going to get a job in sweden for the summer. Problem is that neither of us speak a word os swedish,were wondering how much of a barrier this will be and any other info. would be great like places to work, types of work and so on and so forth. Thanks!

    sorry, but why have you set your minds on sweden when you cant speak any swedish?

    most of them speak english anyway.

    although, whether or not they want to hire you is another thing :)

    We thought it would be something different, My friend has convinced himself that the language wont be a barrier, but does anyone have any advice or such?

    Irish bars :) Its whre all Irish can get employed or find work usually when abroad for a summer

    I was over in Stockholm for a weekend in November with a few mates.Everyone had fluent english(better than ours on occasions!).Most places in the service industry would initially speak to us in Swedish until they saw the blank look on our face and realised we only spoke english.I reckon as long as you stay central you'll get work in most pubs/restaurants cause it'll be touristy.A nice area to work if can get it is in an area called Sodermaan(think thats how they spelt it).Kinda like the temple bar of Stockholm except it's nice!
