Cultural suggestion or simply something to do?

I would put this in theatre but with 3-4 posts showing I doubt I'll get a response.

I'm looking for something different (pref. cultural) to take my better half to in about a weeks time. We regularly goto the cinema so it's not really a good suggestion. Even an IFI/UGC trip wouldn't be that different. So I decided it's high time I went to the theatre again...yet the Times has a poor selection of plays on at the moment, or so it seems to me. Then I thought the Nat. Concert Hall might have something good on - again, nothing caught my fancy and it probably needs to because she wouldn't have been to the NCH much before at all. Even tried the list of comedians and Dirty Sanchez and/or Harry Hill are NOT my idea of a good night. Ice-skating (cultural :D) is probably over by now and I've already strutted my stuff before Christmas with some friends. I also draw the line at anything dance related and I've had my fill of exhibitions unless they're seriously good. Picky? Me?!

Anyone have any suggestions? I said I sort this, yet there seems to be nothing on. Or am I simply uninformed? I'm currently browsing through entertainment.ie but alas nothing yet.

P.S. Any suggestions like swinging or take her to a match please don't bother.

    Fun places:

    1) The Zoo
    2) Funderland
    3) That aqua-place somewhere in Dublin which is at the moment closed down but should be open again soon (closed due to storms)
    4) Dog-Racing

But if you're looking for culture, you could always have a looksee at an opera somewhere. Probably not helpful but you're helping me not study so...

comedy wise, improv is always a laugh or support the younger/newer Irish comedians at the International

    Thanks for the ideas.

What's the aqua place? Bray Aquarium or the national aquatic centre in Bertie's town?!

Zoo - always a good one, lets hope the weather gets better. The Dogs I'll def. bear in mind for a gang of us to go. Funderland - average at best, complete rip-off and herself has just returned from Universal Studios so that's out. Thanks though :)

The International is grand for a casual drop in but...I dunno it's not great.
