Have you ever noticed how paranormal things like ghosts, aliens and psychic phenomena all seem to take turns in being popular?
The poor old lost spirit clanking his chains in some spooky house at midnight has been replaced by the 3 legged anus from Mars.

When the movie Poltergeist was released, ghosts were all the rage - everybody had seen one, everybody had a ghost story to tell!
These days it's aliens all the way. Perhaps it's because aliens are more exciting. Let's face it, ghosts are only dead people after all. Aliens on the other hand, don't look like us, don't think like us and there's a possibility that they may whisk us off to some far away planet for some good, alien luvvin' (or probing if that's your thing)

There's some pretty solid science supporting the existence of non-terrestrial life but it doesn't mean that aliens have visited - or that they ever will. Why the hell would they?

The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us!

I'll see if I can find the link again but some scientists in England did a test to see if ghosts exist.

They took some haunted castle and got a load of subjects and asked them to give a status on each room. The room reported to have ghosts (by the tour guide) a large pecentage said they didn't like a particular room.

So they lighted the room and made some other rooms darker and got a new set of subjects. It wasn't as a large percentage but still the majority said the same room.

Hardly scientific....The fact that the lighting conditions did not improve the room does not prove - or even indicate - that there are ghosts. It simply shows that there was some resaon, other than lighting, why that room was not liked.

I'd still be interested in reading the article if you can dig up the URL tho...

IMHO, ghosts are a load of crap. I think ghosts are harder to believe in then Aliens. Only my 2 Cents
