    Hi all,

I'm looking to install a Sky dish in a mobile home on the Wexford coast near Gorey. My question is will a 43cm Mini-Dish work of would I need a 60cm dish or larger?

Also is there anything major to look out for when buying just a dish and LNB. It looks like the going rate on EBay is about €75 delivered. Could I get it in Ireland for the same money?

    Cal.

I would go with 60cm such as triax or similar, it comes with a tubular mount so you could clamp it onto a pole etc or drill it straight to a wall

I got one of these dishes off ebay to fit to my parents house in Belfast a couple of weeks ago. I was initally suprised as it was smaller than I expected, but once it was up and aligned, the signal strength (with a Panasonic DSB30 digibox) was about 65% and signal quality about 70% - better figures than my "standard" Sky dish here in Dublin.

I intend getting another one for my father-in-law's mobile home in Wexford. Small they may be, but they're tidy and seem to do the trick for receiving Sky in Belfast. Since then I've seen a good few of these smaller dishes now around Dublin and I can't imagine Wexford would be that much different :) .

That looks like a zone 1 mindish (45cm) which maybe ok in most weather on the east coast. At £20 its an excellent price

Thanks Tony & Stephen for your input.

I was veering on the side of a 60cm dish for guarenteed reception but I feel that for £20 and being right on the coast I may risk one of those smaller dishes. I'll let you know how it goes.

In your location, you will be able to get FREEVIEW.

Cheaper than satellite and the best bit is it comes with ITV2 and FIVE.
(you won't get the Disney Channel ABC1)

you can buy a box for 50 quid in Newry.

I got a 60cm Triax dish and universal LNB on Ebay for £26.00 delivered. Seemed too good to pass on.
