    The nice treaty

Before i start i have to emphasise that i really had no opinion on the Nice Treaty before tonight. Of course i saw the wonderful adds on the television and the brilliant posters on walls, polls and wherever else they were. I even noticed that there was loads and loads of em, well lets just say boards had a grand debate about it or something. I didn't read it because i thought it would just be depressing, reading about politics. Sorry what can i say, i just dont find politics intriging.

Both the yes and no sides presented me with equally time consuming "nothing to care about" arguments. I actually even put some time aside to find out what this whole nice treaty really meant to me. I have to say that the thoughts of actually being able to get into a big army where i got to "kick some ass" had its appeal, probably just cos i play to much shoot em up computer games and watch war and action films. In reality though it looked like just another UN peace keeping force to me.

Anyway after watching the news in the time after the nice treaty was said NO to and seeing the news today. This is how my opinion has changed.

I've now turned to the no side, basically just because they look like they actually represent how the people have decided ( or something like that ). The European Union and all the parties in our government seem to be acting like big children. They remind me of when i saw a group of children have to make a game easier because the youngest kept losing on purpose if the game didn't go his way in the first few minutes.
They also seem to be mocking the NO people laughing them off and so on,,, as if to say they are stupid, but arent these NO people the ones who won? It seems then that they are all laughing at the people who voted deeming us as being stupid.

( last argument )As far as i know the European Union are calling us the annoyor's of Europe, taking Denmarks place ( I think denmark had a NO vote to the Maastrict Treaty ), but how could we be the annoyor's. They havent even given their own respective people's a chance to vote. I think Ireland has mainly voted in accordance with the majority of the other countries in respect to other treaties in the past. I think there could be a shock if the other countries put the nice treaty to a referendum.

In finality, I voted yes in the referendum ( i did the eenie meenie meinie moe decision, hey it was my first vote dont slag this part of my post it just isnt relevant for slagging purposes )
but i will now vote NO in the next one because we are all just being treated in such a mean way, unless the treaty is approved by the NO campaigner's or i am given good reason to vote YES.
