    <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">From Yahoo!UK&Ireland News, earlier today:
IRA to shut down arms dump permanently

The newly elected Ulster Unionist MP for South Antrim, David Burnside, says that the IRA are on the verge of sealing up one of its weapons dumps and would do so before the deadline of the 1st of July when David Trimble has said he will resign. He also maintains that the impending announcement could just be a 'con job' by the IRA because he believes that they are still involved in importing arms.
The UUP MP also said that the IRA would produce a shopping list of demands on policing and demilitarisation when the dump is shut down. Mr Burnside said that he had well placed sources that had confirmed the latest developments and that he was sure of his information. He was speaking in London as part of the UUP delegation that has travelled to meet Tony Blair to discuss the current state of the North.

And we all know how honourable the IRA of course. Naturally you could just take their word for it that they closed this dump down, what does that mean anyway? Pour concrete in or something so the guns can't just be dug out later and used if nessecary?

    I can imagine it now:

IRA Man: We have closed the dump, now give us what we want.

Negotiators: Why certainly Sir! Your word as a gentleman is enough for me!

They're going have to actually turn weapons in under an amnesty and watch while they're melted down or something - what other way can they do it?
