i've made a .FLM file using Medi@Show, but the trouble is i can't put it on a dvd because none of the programs i use recognise the file format. i'm trying to find a way to convert it to an mpeg or similar file, but cant find any way to do it. Any advice?

I've never used Medi@Show, but it sounds like .FLM is a file format specific to that program, perhaps containing the layout of the project and still depending on seperate video files... and is hence not a video format at all.
You should have another look around the menus of Medi@Show and see if there's an option to Export the project to an AVI of some sort... since a "Save As" will most likely only save the layout of the program at that point, so you can come back later and continue editing it... which is what I was getting at before.
