Now folks. Let's have a new year's resolution round here. If anyone of youse makes a post that contains the deathless statement:

"I heard from a Sky Rep. that (ITV/Ch 4)* (RTE/TV3/TG4)* (A replacement for TARA)* will be available in (RoI)* (NI)* (GB)* from (Jan)* (Feb)* (Mar)* (Xmas)* onwards"

Can we make sure that said poster is summarily microwaved with extreme prejudice immediately - you'd think there was a army of "Sky Reps" with insider knowledge driving around the country in their Opel Vectras trying to tempt the unwary of Ireland into subscribing!

This is complete bollocks and we know it is. These so-called "Reps" are simply dish contractors trying to extract a few more bob from the unsuspecting and terminally stupid.

there is only one way utv will be available on sky roi this year and thats if itv goes fta. other than that there is no possibility and anyone that tells you otherwise is trying to sell you something.

    I told him.
    It can't possibly be true.

Then there's the new LIDL sat receiver for 5 euro that gets you Sky Sports, PremPlus but it wont' give you ITV so nobody will want it...

Here are some links about the proposed launch of RTE services in NI, Tony.

DigitalSpy thread on the RTE NI subject
DigitalSpy article on RTE NI subject
    Boards.ie thread on RTE
    Times Newspaper Article

I've also seen articles in the Independent, Star and have sent RTE an e-mail on the issue : no reply has yet been received

Well with a post like that tony, i thought it was pretty obvious it was NI and RTE being talked about here?!
(Or I'm probably just incredibly stupid :) )

no it mentions several stations and several locations, nothing obvious about what you were specifically referring to but anyway lets not fall out about it
