Me and my friend are looking to start going to a couple of games here and there.
We've seen a couple of ads in newspapers and whathave but I was wondering does anyone have any recommendations?

Is it just United you want to see? Or anybody?

The package deals are all rip offs. Its much better fun organising it all yourself too. But the only problem then is do you have a source to get match tickets? Tickets can be got over there from various sources like touts (obviously) but Ive got tickets or been offered from people like barmen, or fellow punters in bars close to ground. The one saving grace for the packages is that everything is sorted for you, but you will pay for the priviledge.

Villa in particular sell tickets on ticketmaster.co.uk. But most clubs sell tickets through their official sites, but it is sometimes difficult to buy them as you have to be members or subsribers.

Ryanair and Aer Lingus both fly all over the place, and in general the prices are not high unless you are flying into either Liverpool or Manchester on a matchday.

Well it would primarily be united, unless it was an uber cool match like Arsenal vs. Chelsea of something.

I've looked into organising it myself, and I've worked out the best form of travel, which is a coach over int he morning, onto the boat, coach to match, then you can get back on a coach for the last boat and you're home.

The problem is with getting tickets, which I'm finding really hard for the first match we're trying to go to, AC Milan :)

Why dont you try with a United supporters club?

Ive heard theres one around where i live anyways!Might go to a couple with them allright! The idea would be though that more people would be able to source out tickets and all!

I don't know what the story is with Old Trafford, but as a Spurs fan I'd recommend you try and join the ManYoo as a member.

I paid £31 to join with Spurs (which is pricy enough) but works out in your favour if you go to a couple of matches.. First game I went to this season (before I joined) cost me £46 for a ticket, but if I'd been a member I'd have had no problem getting tickets for the South or North stands at a max of £34.

I get access to tickets ten days before the general public, so I'm virtually guaranteed tickets for any match I want. Knowing that, I can book my flights with Ryanair in plenty of time, so I manage to get the €40 flights when I want, and the day trip works out reasonable enough.

If you can tear yourself away from ManYoo for long enough ;) then I'd recommend you try to get to a few games in London. Fly into Stansted with Ryanair (last flight home @ 10pm) and you can get to most grounds with time to get back to the airport for your flight home.

Me and 2 of the buddies are doing this.

Aston Villa Vs Arsenal, Feb 5.

    Flights Cork > Coventry €59

    Match Tickets £29stg

Accomadation £40 for 2 nights in a Formule One place.

    Buses £12

Taxi from Birmingham to Coventry on the Monday morning (our flight is at 7am :( ) £40

Basically, flights, accomadation and match tix are costing €115, transport about €25 each. When you consider people pay about €700 each for more or less the same, Im sure you will agree, the above is a bargain.

I checked with the supporters club, even if I was to join right now, the tickets for AC Milan are booked out.

I've found somewhere which gives the tickets travel and accomodation for 400, strongly considering it :)

Manutd.com I was gona join as a member, but they still havn;t announced how they are going to sell thee tickets, so I'm gona wait till then before I join.

Still worth doing if you're gonna make this a regular thing. Best of luck anyway.
