    Possibly!

Of course might be something else all together. Have you installed any new hardware recently? Look in Device manager (on XP you can right click 'My computer' > Properties>Hardware>Device Manager, and see if any hardware has a yellow exclamation mark beside it).

No harm to run a full virus scan anyway, after updating the virus checker first for latest updates. You can get a very good free virus checker from www.grisoft.com (just follow Free Version link).

Also download the latest version of stinger: http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ its not a complete anti-virus package, but does check your PC for the most common viruses (virii?) doing the rounds.

Also scan for spyware, using something like:
    http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

(or have a look at the excellent spyware sticky somewhere on the boards website.

    Have fun!

click start > run > type msconfig
when this opens go down to the startup tab
have a browse through all the startup applications for something like Advanced Inf Installer.exe and unclick it. This will stop it booting up with your pc, then you can just use AVG to remove it.
