i had one, it was my 20th b-day, i was with my 3 best friends n i felt happyness unlike anything i'v ever felt b4, wished that nite would last forever. never felt anything like it b4, very hard to describe, just a great feeling of peace n happyness smile.gif

Oh yeah...one springs to mind immediately.
After my daughter was born, that first 5 minutes. I was feeling NO pain (thanks to the ever wonderful epidural!) and there I was, holding my brand new baby, and feeling on top of the world. Scared to death, naturally, and positive I was going to screw her up and end up being the sole topic of her therapy sessions at 22 years of age, but still just euphoric in her birth, how perfect she is, that whole new-mother thing that can be experienced but not explained. I wanted that moment to last forever, that holding of my first baby for the first time, and enjoy it because I knew that when I turned around, she would be 7 years old (which she is, now, and the years are gone like lightning and just as fast...).
It just wasn't the same after my son was born...lol! I was exhausted, it was 5 AM, I had no lovely epidural so pain was definitely a haze over my world...it was still wonderful and lovely, tho!
I must admit, that although I felt as tho I had just given birth to a rampaging mack truck (owwww...) the first time I held him, that all vanished for a minute, (a needed minute, lol!)

And off the frightening topic of childbirth...

One other time I wanted to last...was when I was in California, way up in the mountains, and standing near a river. And somehow, for just a few minutes, the whole world felt perfect...I could see no smog or pollution, the river was sparkling and merry, the trees were green and growing...it was beautiful. Nature is ALWAYS there, how often do you stop and actually look AT it instead of through it, look into it and truly marvel at it all?

A few moments of perfect euphoria.

It rained in San Francisco Wednesday evening, but the penguins were
still there Thursday morning, smiling broadly.

I can remember a soccer match I wished could last forever (well barring fatigue smile.gif).
It was just one of those games that every thing went right, every pass, every dribble, every shot (wahoo goal!) smile.gif
Hopefully Ill get fit and start to play some soccer in college leagues next season.

Nothing lasts forever, that doesn't mean you don't want it to...

I can think of a few moments I wish could have lasted forever. Most of which I have no intention of sharing with you lot... Nothing bold in mind, they're just personal. smile.gif

The night I played my first gig in a band - it rocked. The total euphoric feeling was like nothing I've ever felt since!

Anybody else think that that Coke ad is terribly terribly manipulative? Reminds me of those Eircom ads where somebody in the background is singing, "Your love is my love, and my love is your..." crud.

On topic, yes, I've had those moments. I remember a week away in this amazing little town in a house by the ocean with somebody I really loved, and didn't want it to end. It was a week completely filled with peace and laughing and all kinds of other good secreter things.

Also, a night sitting talking in a huge open field with my friends on a hot summer night watching the sun go down after playing American football together.

Yeah, and then there was this night I slept in a barn in Kilkenny with some of my friends, and it had no doors, and we were looking at the stars and eating marshmallows, and it seemed like we were going to be young forever. Then we ran down to the river and went swimming in the dark. smile.gif

    Conclusion: friendship is good.

    Excellenté.

the moment when you wake up on a Saturday, thinking it's a monday, then realise you were wrong smile.gif

or when you wake up with a paralysed arm, but are too sleepy to realise it, that'd be cool for a few minutes

The day you finish your exams, and have a "long" holiday ahead

the moments when consuming vast quantities of alcohol seems like a really really good idea

listening to great music, and don't have to realise that you've got a million and one better things to be doing

    love

Visiting unspoilt landscape of the spectacular, or not so, variety for the first time (seeing the nature out in connemara or donegal for example) and when you look up you can see inifinite stars, like a dome around you.

Watching a good film at the moment which makes you shiver when you first watch it

Once while snowboarding I met up with a bunch of Italians who spoke no English (in fact some of them were Spanish too).

We all crowded into the ski-car, went up and had a ball coming down. It was 5:30 and the lifts were just closing when we got to the bottom.

The italian guys *begged* the lift operator to keep it running until we got up to the top again. Since this was going to be the last run we decided we needed to go to the summit.

We got up there, all of us laughing and trying to communicate with each other. ("Hey Hey... U2 Rock!!" was about all they could say about Ireland).

We got to the top and everyone just stood there looking out at the land below us (this is at 4500 feet up!) with the sun setting dramatically. Everyone got real quiet then and just started to go through their safety checks.

Soem people were ready before others so we just sat down and looked at the breath taking view. One guy pulled out a prerolled joint and sparked it and passed it round.

Eventually everyone was sitting looking out and without a word of agreement we all just started to board off down the mountain hooting and bouncing in and out of powdered snow. It was soo late there wasnt another person on the mountain except this troop of boarders acting the mick!
It was weird, moving very fast in a pack of other guys criss crossing, carving, jumping etc.

But if I could save one moment it was all of us totally silent looking at the land below with the sun going down just before we set off.

    DeVore.

Agreed. That coke ad is one of the most manipulative things I have ever seen. I can just see people being reeled in by it - that longing we all have for a perfect moment and the sad, sad truth that none of us realise which moments are the ones we'll cherish until they're past.

This thread is depressing. I don't think I've been happy for a long time.

A moment which I'd like to lst forever?

The last two and a half years have been extreme hell for me (During that time, my mother was submitted into hospital with brain-damage, and is permanantly in a coma...)

Any moment I've had in the past with her, I'd love to relive at least. We always got on so well, and you wouldn't believe how similar we are in looks, emotion and actions.

I'd be content with just one minute with her, but for it to last forever would be good - So much we'd catch up on.

Although it is the nature of advertisements to be manipulative, I don't think that coke ad is particularly so... or maybe it didn't have the desired effect on me. I heard "life tastes good, coca-cola" and dismissed the entire thing as a new low in advertising.

    I have had a couple.

The night before one of my best friends went home to America we stayed up all night just playing guitar and talking, I'll always rememeber that one.

The first warm day after a long winter always makes me very happy and I always remember that feeling of real warmt on my back for the first time in 5 or 6 months.

It may be VERY nerdy but last summer when I got the chance to play on the Irish quake team. Its kinda hard to describe but in one game we managed to beat the English team, in this game there was about 20 seconds when I had quad and battle armour. I remember seeing 4 of England's top players running from me like scared children, all the lads who had come over (esp. Jedi who was screaming like mad) shouting when we took the lead and then won the game. After that I just sat there numb.

ur rite that is VERY nerdy tongue.gif but i hav a simialar story...

bit of back ground story first, i go to trbdi (tipp inst now!) thurles, there's also a trbdi clonmel, so ne way for months we'd been slaggin each other over unrealtournament say we were better etc. etc. so ne way we decided to get our two best players to fight... i played for thurles and some other guy (aka the looser tongue.gif) for clonmel, so ne way we were playin hard for about 20 mins (i didn't blink the entire time!)... the whole match frag for frag, first i would start to gain the advantage then him, back n forth for ages till i eventually won biggrin.gif

everyone from my campus were cheering n geering! wink.gif n patin me on the back ... twas great! my 15min's or rather 20 of fame biggrin.gif
