    slashdot.org Slashdot. The site that bashes Microsoft, and it's computer dominance whenever possible.

    exception of Dublin Airport and the famous Slashdot Firefox problem all those other sites listed above I had no problem at all with?

    Are you sure your using the right version? Also I have adblock running, so it might be adverts misbehaving on the page.

    Oh and if you find a site that doesn't work it is better to email the site and tell them to fix it.

    .. and I noticed eircom site throw up a huge warning that netscape is insecure. ROFL.

    Display problems in FF is the least of Eircom.ie's problems...

    Other than that, I agree that it seems to be Adblock's little tab that causing most of the problems, but that can be switched off in the extensions preferences.

    As an aside, what resolution are you viewing the graphically glitchy sites at?

    Hobbes, try looking at a video on launch.yahoo.com with firefox.

    the insecure message on eircom.ie was what i was refering to. also on eircom.net the news seems to overlap onto the ad banner above and yes i do realise its a minor problem compared to others eircom have.

    Most of the sites with problems is mainly because of dodgy alyout problems. Which means CSS. Sites are still readable.

    One of the best arguments I heard in favour of browser neutrallity is the observation that there was a time when circa 90% of the browsers were Netscape, and people designed Netscape only sites. Then the tide turned and now it's circa 90 % IE. Who knows what it'll be like in a few years time?

    If it is WMP then the problem is with WMP and not the site. Microsoft don't seem too bothered to fix the problem.

    Actually IE has 73% and Firefox has 21% (reference). Compare that with 6 months ago (IE 80% /FF 14%). The websites need to start taking attention and fixing the issues otherwise it will look like they are the ones with the problem not firefox (mentality of the masses).

    Actually its probably not the css. Css was invented because of numerous browsers. Its more than likely that the presentation is defined in the html or whatever instead of external css. Presentation and structure should be separate. If it were then there would be no problems. also IE does tables, borders, padding wrong... pure and simple... Opera and Firefox both do it according to the w3 specs... IE is a web-designers nightmare!

    There's also some interesting lawsuits out there for sites using tables for layout! (About 70% of all sites!). As screen readers cant read them properly they are inaccessible to blind people! AOL in america got fined a huge amount of money!

    Anyway there's my two cents...

    Those are the statistics of w3schools.com, who would only really get web developers going to it, so it's not a true representation of internet use in general. However it's an OK representation of web developer use. More and more web developers using firefox is a good thing for standards complance.

    hotmail = microsoft

    Apparently Hotmail was blocked to all users of Opera until Opera threatened court action.... Microsoft are always going to be slow opening their stuff to competitors.... Makes good business sense not to. And they didn't make their money being stupid... Well almost....
