In tribute to Smoke's inspired "russian leader" thread, I put forward the question - who is your favoutie American Leader, from Washington to George Bush Jr.? Who was the greatest leader of the greatest country ever?

The death of one man is a tragedy - the death of a million is just a statistic. - Josef Stalin
Mein Fuhrer, I can walk!!! - Dr. Strangelove

We are the mediocre presidents.
You won't find our faces on dollars or on cents!
There's Taylor, there's Tyler, there's Fillmore and there's Hayes.
There's William Henry Harrison, ``I died in thirty days!''
We... are... the... adequate, forgettable, occasionally regrettable
Caretaker presidents of the U-S-A!

Better that than an arrogant-right-wing-Texan-scum of a current president!

No, GW does not get my vote smile.gif

Franklin D. Roosevelt- without a shadow of a doubt. Despite being a polio paraplegic he still managed to be one of the strongest leaders in our nation's history. FDR implemented the new deal, fought the war intelligently and decisively until his tragic death. A true legend of a leader. Oh, and Abraham Lincoln obviously smile.gif

There can only be one great american president the one the only Jimmy Carter!

In the words of Homer "Scooby Doo can doo doo but Jimmy Carter is smarter"

I really agree with the FDR vote, but I also really like Bill Clinton. smile.gif
His achievements might be dubious but if there was one politician I could be like, it would be him.

Strange...
Smoke's thread on Russian Leaders was packed off to the trolls almost immediately, yet this one, on a similar subject, is still around... Racism perhaps?

My top 2 US presidents of the 20thC would be
- Truman for his willingness to stand up to Stalin and his own Generals
- Teddy Roosevelt both for his willingness to break up monopolies and the creation of many National Parks

I Would also have to go with FDR,
Clinton was a excellent president and has a good chance of geting re-elected mainly due to the fact he had an affair, which makes him more like you or me?
You know politicions are just normal people who happen to work in that field instead of another, there not smarty Linux men.
