I saw a comment on this on another thread and it makes perfect sense to me. Being "out of town", nights out for me means driving and I find more often that not I very reluctantly end up paying up to €4 for a mini bottle of N/A beer. :(

So why not promote it ?

For me personally this would be a far more reponsible action from vintners.

What's wrong with "N/A beer €1 off for designated drivers" or some such thing?

Are there any pubs anywhare that actively promote N/A beers or other N/A drinks in this or any other way?

Non available beer?? Sure if they dont have it, they cant charge you a 'special price for it

Seriously, who drinks non-alcoholic beer, tis mank

Although i would like to see a reduction in the price of coke or fanta after 9 oclock or something

In some pubs it is N/A alrite . Agree that some is mank, Becks and Kaliber to name but two, but Non-alcoholic version of Erdinger weiss beer is the business. Sadly have only ever found alcoholic version in pubs. Dunnes used to sell it. Soft drinks should be included as well for "drivers". Not sure how that they would make that work though

You get all that stuff free in the states don't you?

i.e. Designated driver gets his\her fizzy pop or whatever.

Coca-Cola were running a designated driver program this Christmas, whereby if you went into a participating pub and declared yourself to be the designated driver you were entitled to three free Coca-Cola brand soft drinks.

We used to have it where I worked and it was 5.70 for a bottle of Erdinger but 4.25 for a bottle of N/A Erdinger

Also 4.40 for Becks and 3.75 for Becks N/A

I suppose it's not much of a difference but most places do charge a little less for N'A beers

Tis worse in Germany, over there a glass of coke is twice the price of a litre of beer :(
