zip drive problem, need help please !

    Hello,

    I have a 250 zip drive a 1 zip disk that I use once in a blue moon, but I have some files on the disk that I need...

    The problem is when I go to open the zip drive in "my computer" it says insert a disk... :(

    Would it be the disk that is the problem ?

    Does it "whirr" or "click" or anything when you go to open the drive?

    Doesn't sound like the disk, in my opinion!

    Yep it makes all the normal sounds , but when I insert the disk it sounds like it takes about 1 minute to register, sort of like a CD skipping when it's loading, then it stops.

    If that makes any sence !

    Hopefully, it won't have suffered from the same fate mine did - the famous 'Click-Of-Death' (http://grc.com/tip/codfaq1.htm)

    My advice - try removing the device from Device Manager and then re-installing the Zip Drive.
