If you're sick of the new year hype, why not switch calendars?

There's a really interesting site here that explains the Chinese, Indian, Islamic, Jewish, Mayan calendars and more.

My personal favourite is the French Revolutionary Calendar that was designed to get rid of the "irrational" and thus, nefarious, features of the existing calendar. See here: http://webexhibits.org/calendars/calendar-french.html
Maybe the EU should adopt it!

The names of the months and days are so pretty!

    Months:

    1. Vendémiaire 7. Germinal
    2. Brumaire 8. Floréal
    3. Frimaire 9. Prairial
    4. Nivôse 10. Messidor
    5. Pluviôse 11. Thermidor
    6. Ventôse 12. Fructidor

    Days (10 per week!):

Primdi, Duodi, Tridi, Quartidi, Quintidi, Sextidi, Septidi, Octidi, Nonidi, Décadi.

    So, what's your favourite calendar?

I'd love to see you argue in work that you can't work Nonidis and Décadis cos they're YOUR weekend

No that would be a terrible idea, I think a 7 day week is already too drawn out, imagine adding an extra 3 work days to your week, ugh!
