Watching TV on a PC wirelessly

    Can anyone tell me if it is possible to watch cable TV on a PC without having to connect the cable to directly to the TV card?

    My PC and cable connection are too far apart to run the cable. I was wondering if it was possible to connect Digisender from a TV/Satellite to the TV card using the scart connection on the receiving Digisender. I know I would have to watch whatever was on the TV/Satellite at that time but that is not a problem.

    Can anyone help with this one? Do TV cards come with a connection for an RGB cable to allow me to do this.

    I don't see why a video sender wouldn't work. Never done it though.

    I have my setup going from pc => TV with video sender. Can't see any reason why that couldnt be reversed..

    Yes, you can do it.

    I have the Hauppague USB PVR and use the Digisender. Only problem is, the Digisender has a SCART output, so I have to run the Digisender into the VCR and from that to the PVR and from that to the PC. biggrin.gif

    So, I have SKY->Digisender->Digisender (receiver)->VCR (SCART in)->USB PVR->Laptop. Pain in the arse, but it works.

    Have you got a SCART connection on the video sender connected to your PC, if so do you have a TV card that can accept scart leads or is there so device you can get to convert a scart connection to a normal cable or s-video connector?

    When I was in the US I had a 2.4GHz sender/reciever box for PC->TV and reverse. It was a pile of crap though.

    No. I have a cable running from the pc's tv out - through a composite convertor - hooking up to the yellow composite connection of the video sender. The other two audio composites are plugged into an adapter - which feeds the two into the one audio port of the pc's soundcard.
    Video sender - €40-50
    Tv-out ->composite adapter >€10
    It was a pile of crap though.
    Well, when possible, then its best to go the wired route. Where this isnt possible, then its the next best solution. Problem is interference from other appliances using 2.4Ghz eg. microwaves, wireless cards. - and thick walls or walls with foil-backed plasterboard.
    For me, it works flawlessly, but mileage varies..
