    Hmmmm.
I'm sure someone on boards will prob just give you a cd-rom drive. I'm sure there are plenty of ppl with them just lying around collecting dust. (I honestly didn't think they'd even sell cdroms anymore :D)

I think I've 2 cd-writers sitting around at home. I'll take a look when I get home and let you know.

The problem with IT Direct is that they have only about 10% of the products listed on their website in stock - everything else has to be ordered. Then when you go to buy something in the shop the product will invariably be more expensive than the VAT inclusive price on the site...

I've one black, one beige. Dunno what speed they are off the top of my head. One came with my dell (replaced it with a DVD-writer). The other someone gave me. I'll check speeds when I get home tonight.

    Flodis79 gets first choice.

Hmm maybe I should continue this out of the Bargains forum...

Sorry it took so long. Busy busy busy after the Xmas.
Is there anyway of telling what speeds the drives are without putting them back into a machine? Is a model/serial number any good?
