Anyway, I was looking around for a new guitar/amp only last week and I got an offer I could not refuse today. A 5 day old Line6 Spider 2 75Watt amp and a nearly new BC Rich Bich NJ Series for 600EUR with leads, strings, etc. Not too gone on the BC Rich at the moment, it will take a bit of time to get used to the neck, but I do like the locking tremolo system. The amp is very loud, especially when hooked up to my Metal Zone. Anyway, was I ripped off?

Oooh, a Bich? Noice. Is it one of the newer ones with the speedloader, or the more traditional style floyd? What colour is it?

I don't think you were ripped off though, you'd probably expect to pay about 600 for the Rich new, so with the amp, you're grand.

Sounds like a good deal, congratulations. Maybe bring the guitar to a good luthier to be set up properly, might help you adjust to it?

Of course, you're aware that not posting pics of new gear gets folks banned? ;)

Aye, I shall expect to see pics sharpish.

Not sure would you need to take the guitar to a luthier really, both of my Rich guitars were setup perfectly when I got them. My bass is a different matter altogether, but I think that was just a fluke really. I hope it works out well either way for you, and you get used to the neck sharpish. Personally, I find BC Rich have the most comfortable necks there are.

Thanks guys. Makes me feel better knowing I got a good deal. The Bich is black, and it has the Floyd Rose. The neck just feels a bit wide and the action seems slightly high. I'm coming from a Les Paul copy, though and I always liked the neck on it. Ah well bit of adjustment.
Really can hear the difference between the guitars when playing high up the fretboard. The BC Rich seems to have a lot more power.

Hmm... if the action is a bit high, then definetly have it set up if you're not too savvy with the floating trems yourself. Glad you're happy with the sound though, and I hope you're happy overall when you've gotten more used to it.

Can anyone recommend someone who can set them up. And would it be possible to lower the action?

  • this page is what the doc reccommended for me, give it a go

    Set up

Actually it is the Speedloader tremolo system. Anyone lowered the action on one of these yourself. Looks straightforward enough, just twist the two keys at the tremolo system. I don't really want to wreck it though, but I gotta lower it, way too high atm.
