Amigas and Christmas....

What is it about Christmas that makes me want to pull out the old Amiga? This Christmas I have been playing a bit of Gods and Under a Steel Sky on the Amiga. :p

Is anyone trying out their zillion and a half Amiga games to try out? I would recommend Megalomania or Putty as it has a christmas feel to it....

Pinball Fanasties... try this one and don't stop 'til the early hours... you need a mate to play with though... otherwise your highscore goes to waste...

Hmmm... off the bat so to speak.... someone try a game now and let me know of a score to beat on the "Stones and Bones" table.... and I'll see what I can do.... it's been too long! :)

    Populous.

Played it yesterday and had to force myself to turn the machine off.

Believe it or not... I left it very late to getting around to Populous... I bought it on budget for the PC and it was terrible... no ADLib sound support just the internal pc speaker and looked bad in ega.

Tried it on the Amiga there and wow... no wonder the Amiga whipped the PC well into 1995... :)

You just reminded me of loading up Cannon Fodder....

Ive got me an a1200 but sweet feck all games on floppy. I really need to get me a harddisk for it, its a pain in the arse trying to copy adf's onto the floppy disk with only 2mb of ram.

    Sensi soccer - what a game :)

I had the vanilla version of Sensi Soccer. My brother later got SWOS and I really liked the sheer number of added leagues, players and options. The gameplay at heart was good old fashioned "get stuck in there". It was also no longer to score 20-0 like in the 1st version. :)

I had the A500 for 3 years and I was getting ready to plump for A1200 (with a quantum harddrive addon) however at the last moment I went for a 486DX2-66Mhz (IR1800!) in the end. Needless to say Sensi soccer wasn't the best thing on that.

Maybe you could get directions for installing a 3.5" HD at the Amiga Forums at http://eab.abime.net. There directions there to show how to use standard HDs with a little bit of preparation on your Amiga.

I'll stick with the hardfile option... I never had a harddisk when I had the Amiga and I must say it makes some difference when playing Eye of the Beholder or Monkey Island 2 (that 11 floppy disk swap-fest!).

Sensi Soccer was never something I got into as I had discovered Kick Off first (picked it up at an Amiga conference in Crystal Palace!) with Player Manager.

Ah feck....I just can't resist any longer !

One thing I remember about Kick off was that the players were bigger but you saw less of the screen relative to the players than in sensi... meaning it was tricky to set up passes and so on. But then again I didn't play much of Kick off... there was a kick off 3 as far as I remember...

Just slipped into Elite this morning and I forgot how addictive this trading lark was.... and how dependent I was on the military lazer! :) I play with the keys (on winuae) and it can be tiring work in an anarchy system. I never held out for the Elite range back when I had the game first. I got as far as deadly and left it after that. Maybe this time....

I found myself playing Canon fodder and Dune 2 in WinUAE over xmas as well...Absolute classics but thank god for multible drives when it comes to Dune. Honestly how did we put up with it! ;) As far as Elite goes Frontier is my favorite game of all time and I play FFE to this very day!
