why is it that people go mental on this day ?
I personaly think of it as Great friday as i always have a great time ( apart from when i got an abses under my tooth and had to wait till the tuesday to have it sorted)
The funnest thing i've seen on said day was when a mate was coming to my house for a party and he had all his drink with him, next he hears this old guy ( yes he DID sound old) giving out saying " we ask you to not drink for one day of the year and you don't repect God enough to do that !!" or something to that effect, to which my mate says "Fu<k off" turns around see's the old man is a old preist and then says "Father"
and then he legs it the remaining 10 yards to my house.
No we cheered him up as best we could telling him that Hell wouldn't be that bad !!!

    that was a Great day !!! biggrin.gif

No !!!!! I will crush you with my Bare hands

Really! You're not supposed to drink on good friday? But I have a whole case of Heinie! eek.gif

I don't think anyone pays attention anymore. I live in a village of jesus freaks and the chip shop I work in sold out of chicken and did a roaring trade in burgers on ash wednesday. That the twat didn't do enough fish was probably a factor but.....

It's because you can't go to a pub everyone feels the need to get blind drunk on Good Friday - lets face it theres sod all else to do.

Oh wait I could go to Jerusalem and beat myself with a plank of wood like those freaks that the Irish Times publish pictures of every year.

Personally I don't eat a lot of red meat, and I'm not a big drinker. But I do make an effort of Good Friday to do both in great quantities.

This year Good Friday is on Friday the 13th of April, so something both spooky and strange is bound to happen.

I personally am not a practising Catholic, but I still enjoy the whole "stigma" surrounding Good Friday, it's interesting, knowing that some people think I shouldn't be eating meat or drinking.

Pubs close 2 days a year and during those 2 days you would swear drink was never going to be served again EVER!
