Has anyone here seen this film (IMDB description here)? It was praised highly in a review in the Irish Times' Ticket magazine a few weeks ago but I haven't heard any more about it since then.

yes! i saw it on its week of release in ugc.
its easily the most beautiful superb film ive ever seen, the film runs for over 6 hours so it is a bit of an undertaking, but it is easily worth your time and effort, not once did i feel the film dragged through its whole 6+ hours.
i dont really want to talk about the plot too much, but all you need to know is that it follows an italian family through italian history from the mid 60's upto mid 2003, specifically on the 2 sons of the family.
the film is still showing in SCREEN, divided into 2 parts(approx 3 hours each)
more info can be found here http://www.filminfo.net/index.php?page=sites&wantedSite=dji

if you put in the time and effort with the film i can guarantee you wont be dissapointed
