    Hi

Got this quote from Marx computers of Eur 523

    - Amd Sempron 2200+ (1.5ghz)
    - 300W Micro-ATX Case with front LED
    - 128MB DDR-RAM
    - Video (64mb) + Sound + Lan + USB2 on Board
    - 40GB Hard Drive UDMA100, 7200rpm
    - Floopy Drive
    - 16x48x DVD-Rom
    - Wireless Keyboard & Mouse
    - 200W Speakers
    - Extra DVD-R/RW
    - Extra 256MB memory PC-333 (2700)

They also do Epson Printers for about 98 -130 Eur

I tried Komplett but dont like their customer service and
they dont have any 'front office' so its not worth
the hassle should I order something wrong on their website

Dont want to build it myself as more than likely will feck it up
    and not that technically minded

All I want it for is internet, email, and burning/ copying DVD's, Music
    and images

I have windows xp so dont need operating system and also
use broadband so I dont need modem

Also print about 2-4 pictures a month

Ask about a Pentium 4 but it was close to 200 quid and
was told its only advantage is video compression???
Also asked about athlon64 but was told they are on
    the way out

They have a 1 year returns which is ok

Anyone got any comments is it worth it or should I make any
modifications as I am looking to buy soon??

    Cheers

Do you really need a floppy drive?
Do you really need a DVD-ROM drive if you have a DVD-R/RW?

40Gb is probably the bare minimum for Music/DVD's - you will be surprised how quickly it fills up.

Also asked about athlon64 but was told they are on
    the way out
ROFL - they have just lost any credibility they had with that statement.

Mother of God, who on earth would buy from a company that said something like that!

That be its advantage when compared with a A64. Against a Sempron (which Socket??) is more significant. Its compared to the Celeron D which it outperforms (Socket 754 does, A is even with the Celeron).

Reviews dont compare the Semprons with the more recent P4's or A64 because the sempron is the budget chip.

That is not a very impressive sounding machine, everything in it seems to be the minimal size or power available today and no brand names given for the compobnents. Anyone that told you Athlon 64 is on the way out either hasn't a clue or is trying to deceive you into buying what they want to sell you. Athlon 64 has only recently been released in a new socket (939). Eventually all Athlon64 chips will be Socket 939 and Socket 754 version will be phased out, but that isn't the same thing as saying that Athlon64 is on the way out.

you would probably get better value in the forsale section of boards, or else by buying a dell although you would have to buy a monitor as well.
    personally i wouldn't buy it.
