Don't break my legs, my achy breaky legs

Ok, i ALWAYS, probably once or twice a week get aches in my legs... last night i had one in my right leg around the knee and it kind of felt like my muscle was burning at one point.. now i'm in work and my left leg is aching, although not as bad..

What causes achy breaky legness? i do sit down all day in work, then sit down when i get home.. and as of late i don't get a whole lot of exercise.. could this be the reason or would it be somethin else?

does it start like pins and needles and then sometimes goes dead?

had that and it was a trapped nerve type thing, not helped by bad posture. getting a foot rest and making an effort to sit properly at the pc helped

21.. no shinsplints... thank god!! they suck.. could it be my weight.. too much pressure on the bones? i'm 6ft 4/5 and about 19st, quite possibly 20:(:D

Yes it could be lack of exercise. Try something like swimming that won't be too hard on the knees. You don't need to be overweight to have sore knees, you just have to have little exercise.

But go to a doctor if it is bad.

It could be rheumatism, I used to wake up with pains in my legs when I was a kid. It was nothing serious, I just took painkillers for it.

Is it muscle pain, joint pain, bone pain?

    If it persists ....

Considering your height you may have back problems. It is quite common for very tall people to have back problems. Slight back twinges can manifest themselves in the legs. Alternative medicine is worth a look as well. Have a look at the VHI Health A-Z and Alternative Medicine pages

i'm not really sure.. i don't think it's only joint pain, as it's not always the joints that are painfull, not sure about the bone... it could be muscular, as last night it felt like the muscle was burning, as if i'd just done a 30 mile cycle uphill against gale force winds!! :p

That sounds like a visit to the doctor and a checkup up is in order. Don't leave it.

I clicked expecting a harrowing story of loan sharks, and possibly drug addiction. I'm slightly disappointed.

I think someone should make a gathering card for all these "Duuuh should I go to the doctor" threads on PI.

"Duuuh I have a runny nose what's wrong with me?"
"Duuuuh My bum is sore, I've been sitting reading boards for 4 days, what's wrong with me"
"Duuuuuuuuuh I cut my artery should I wake my grandma up and put a plaster on"

It should say what I always want to say in response to these posts: "You have AIDS and are about to die" "

*To those that are about to tell me this is highly insensitive, I know. That's the point.

    To original poster...

I have a similar problem with my joints, particulary my knees.
If I bend down, or walk a certain way my joints hurt like hell.

The closest I've ever gotten to a proper diagnoisis by a GP is that I have...."gammy knees"
