PSU Question

In one of my sytems I have an Antec True Blue 480W PSU connected to an Abit motherboard. When I turn on the PSU (i.e. the psu switch not the computer on button the case) the fans and lights turn on for a split second before turning off. Is this dangerous. Shoud I consider switching PSU's. My friend finds really unnerving but I don't care unless it puts the actually machine at rest. I also read that my particulary motherboard has incompatabilitys with antec PSU's so I assume thats the cause.

    Any recommendations?

i've the same psu connected to a abit motherboard, and the lights and fans in the psu (i take it, it's only the PSU's fans+lights that come on) don't turn on.

in my opinon i don't think it's dangerous, as you're switching it on and it's connected to the mains some electricity could get through

Oh sweet jesus make them stop.

No it's not bad for your system.
The motherboad is just powering on, realises the PC should be off (this is bios settable, see "default state after power failure" or somesuch) and then cutting the power.

why don't you just leave the button in the on position?
