what do ye think about the governments new policy of goin over to places like india n offering there finest work in ireland?

do ye think its unfair that on one side we're sayin we want to help n offer aid, n on the other takein they're most skilled?

or do ye take the view that we're offering them a chance at a better life?

i'm undecided so i thought i'd consult with the every wise ppl on boards.ie! wink.gif

Well remember its a two way thing,
Migrant workers traditionally send money home to their family, thereby raising the standards of living there also.
Also if the jobs are not just of a menial nature skills and work practice learnt in one country can be reapplied in another, raising the skills base of the donar country at a future point.
Dont worry about a brain drain Indians like the Irish have always exported their labour.
Besides indians are cool,i should know i am one half indian smile.gif

They're good at developing software too!

I think it's a good thing to bring them over, for us and them. The reasons have already been stated so I won't go into that again.

However, I do think the government should take more of an interest in our own poor. Particulary those huddled under blankets in door ways every night.
