Make sure that the screen isnt too big - I'd never get a laptop with anything bigger than a 13" screen. And try to get something slim - less than 3 cm high.

Just my tu'pence worth on aesthetics...

Is that by a long shot or just slightly? I want a new laptop but would it be better to go for a 2nd hand one do you reckon?

HERE IS A LINK TO THE LAPTOP I'M TALKING ABOUT:)

Just thinking about it... how much would I be looking to pay for a similar machine 2nd hand? Would there be much of a price difference does anyone think?

Is this an offer worth going for?

Will I find a better offer in other sales?

    Is this computer brand ok?

    Will the components be ok?

    Will there be a guarantee?

Will it be necessary to queue before opening times to get my hands on one of these or should it be ok to strole in any time during the day?

if anyone knows, please answer soon! thanks

EDIT: See the way it says 1.7GHZ? Is this allot worse than the minimum option on dell.ie with laptops of 3.0GHZ? Whats the difference? I really have no idea about this kind of thing. If somebody could please check out different offers for same kind of price/specs and let me know how good a deal this really is I would be very grateful! Please let me know what I would be missing out on by going with this deal over any other.

    Intel® Pentium® M processor 735(1.7Ghz)
Please explain difference with this and a 3.0ghz from dell for example
Multi Format DVD Burner DVD-+ R/RW
I know what this is and need and want this option
    Intel PRO/WIRELESS LAN 2200 b/g
Does this mean I can connect to wi-fi points in cafes and the likes?
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 with 128MB
Don't know what this is or if it is any good, please explain
    High resolution 15.1" SXGA+ Display
    Obviously the screen, Sounds ok:)
    80 GB Hard disk
I know what this is, pretty big alright:)
    512 MB DDR RAM 333MHz
Unsure of what difference this will make but I know 512 is considered good, wouldn't know what 333MHZ is about though
    4 in 1 Card Reader
    What cards???
    Soundsystem
Lacking info, what do you reckon they mean?
    2 internal speakers, internal
These are just the little crappy speakers on the laptop I take it
    microphone connection
    Explains itself
    3x USB 2.0,
    Fine
    Firewire IEEE1394
Don't know what the IEEE1394 is about
    VGA-Out, Mic-In, Line-Out,
Is this a sound card? Is it good?
    TV-Out (s-video)
connect to tv to watch on tv screen?
56k Modem V.90 and fast ethernet 10/100Mbit LAN (includes telephone cable)
I'll be using UTV clicksilver, how will this come in handy otherwise?
Battery: Smart Li-Ion battery (8 cells) *Proved with the "mobile Mark" battery test.
    Says 6 hours. seems good
