Raid issues

The raid card ATA/133, has a silicon image chip on it. My motherboard doen't have raid on it. Before my HD loads it goes thru the searching for raid devices and finds the HD I've put into it. Raid recognises the HD but thats all that happens. My boot order is for my IDE hard drive but it never loads, it just shows a black…

Raid recognises the HD but thats all that happens. My boot order is for my IDE hard drive but it never loads, it just shows a black screen and reboots itself. When I unplug the cable from the HD it will load into windows. So why when I plug in the hard drive into the raid card does it refuse to load?

The box comes with a CD rom, no floppy disk.
