are you using windows xp if you are the printer driver should be embeed with windows so ya don't need the instalaltion disk

how old is the printer?? its more than likely an old 16bit driver for win 95/98/98se/ME.
zap - win XP does have some printer drivers, whoever it seems to me like the collection is quite limited. i had 3 different printers on win 2000 and XP and windows neither of the driver by default. maybe service packs update the driver database...
