4:3 images stretched to fill 16:9 screens

How many people STILL have their NTL box or dvd player set to 4.3 and just stretch it to fit their 16.9 screen? Widescreen and digital have been with us a number of years if people are still that dumb they are never going to learn. Your might think so what or why should I care? Your might think so what or why should I care?
The problem is as long as people are doing this most digital channels wont spend the money to go widescreen.

You even get some people that have got their set up done right but seem to think there is a problem when a film is shown is 2.35.

Is there any hope for some people?

Because of these dumb people we still have a 4.3 on our four irish channels.
