something is wrong... first off my IP address is of the form 194.x.y.0 -- how the hell can it be 0? Secondly I can browse some sites, such as this one and google, but I can't browse others like UTV's own site or theinquirer.net. Also, I can't connect to MSN messenger or Steam, or indeed even UTV's news server (I can ping this but cannot connect to it).

    ODD

Sounds like a poorly configured dhcp server. Just turn off/reset your modem until you grab a new lease off the dhcp server so your ip changes.

Oh, and it's possible if they've created a single subnet of more than a /24 and pooled all the ips in that subnet for the dhcp servers.

New IP did the trick alright, cheers. Took ages though!

Probably a DUMB question, but I can't get into half of my favourites - ie Banking365, fileplanet etc - Boards fine as are a few other visited sites.

I also can't send mail!! I can receive it - just can't get any out!!

Is this a Clicksilver problem or me?!?! Rebooted - no effect

I wonder if you've been assigned this .0 IP address now?
