Christmas is the season for giving. This year, instead of spending money on Christmas cards, we're giving £100 000 to charity on your behalf.

Three charities have been chosen (see panel). Our charity Day is Sunday, December 10th. So text your support for the charity of your choice and we'll donate the money on your behalf.

Just send a free text message to Eircell on 1745, one free text message per customer, with the code of the charity you are supporting (see panel for instructions). We'll share the money amongst the charities according to our customers' support.

So get texting on December 10th. And help us spread a little Christmas goodwill.

Press the menu button on your phone
Go to messages
Go to create/write messages
Type in the charity code (CHI / FOC / HOS)
Press SEND/OK
Key in 1745
Press SEND/OK

Foreign roaming charges may also apply. Sending a message normally costs just 10p (12.1p incl. VAT) for Eircell customers, or 10p (incl. VAT) for Ready to Go customers. This offer is valid from midnight on Saturday 09/12/00 to midnight on Sunday 10/12/00.

Just curious where did you get that info?

Reason I ask is thier is a cool scam going on in the US at the mo with 809 dialing code and this sounds similar.
