it was the best p4 board available a year ago.

Still decent, but you're better off with pci-express if building a new system.

Have the board. Still the best s478 intel board you can get. No complaints at all.

since its card only im assuming that it dosent come with mounting racks or manuals or anything would it be hard to pick these up?

You don't need manuals, just spacers to put between the mobo and the case which can be got easily enough, then coonnections for any ide or sata drives which normally come with the board.

Nice board - have one myself. However the OTES and Northbridge fans make a bit noisy!

i have the max 2 of the board and the max 3 knocked it off the pole position of being the best socket 478 board.

    so now it's

    1. MAX 3
    2. MAX 2
    3. rest don't matter get max 3

do Abit stil have those horrible BIOS problems?
remeber having to flash the things on a regular basis, because the thermal control system was crap

Haven't had any BIOS problems since getting it a year ago. BIOS updates are really easy with the abit flash utility that runs from windows.
    so now it's

    1. MAX 3
    2. MAX 2
    3. rest don't matter get max 3

The asus p4c800 is probably #2. I want to get a thermalright xp-120 but I know the otes cooling is going to block it. Has anyone tried removing it to do something similar?
