I have an FTV card that was paired with my now defunct Pace box.

I've replaced this with a Sky+ box but wonder if I phone to get the card switched over, Sky will realise my new box is Sky+ & rumble the fact that I'm not a UK resident...

Anyone any experience in this ??

as far as i know the version 2 ftv cards (yellow house) don't pair a box, can be used on any box... but i am all 99% sure you sky+ stuff won't work , it will only function as a normal dogeybox.

Mine's paired unfortunately...its defenitely the newer dark blue card.

When I put it into the Sky+ box it comes up with a message saying that its in the wrong box ! - very unhelpful.

I think you might have to leave it in the box overnight. I don't think they are paired.

    Hi andip,
you could try and go into the hidden menu ,services 0,1,select
and new instalation scan. might be worth a try?!

Still no joy on this one I'm afraid - looks like some of the newer cards are paired to the box.

Anyone know if whoever you phone to get the card activated can tell that its a sky+ box from the serial number ?? - just dont want them to screw up my main subscription

Hang on a second what do you mean by the FTV card being paired to the box?
Its my understanding that they are paired to the box that they are first activated in, but do the business in any box.

I have one of the latest scheme newer ones and its in a sky plus box that its not paired to , yet it gives itv,4 and 5 no problems.

Are you getting a message on itv-This is not the correct card for this set top box on ITV?
Or is it just the phone for upgrade message?

As per what Earthman says the card should give ITV CH4 and CH5 in any box. Are you getting these channels Andy? You will get the "wrong card for this box" message for the likes of sky1 and other sub channels.

At the weekend I brought my card round to a neighbours to show him that if he got his son to get one, and activate it, it would work. It did with no issues.

Should add his was a normal digibox, but I'm sure we'd have heard about it if there was a skyplus issue.
