i bought a IR tv link so that I can change sky channels on another TV. I
connected the out from the sky digibox to the aerial connection in the
wall and connected the TV link to the other TV and nothing. When I
connect the TV link directly to the cable coming out of the digibox I
get the power light but when I connect it to the other TV I get no
power. Is there something else I need to make this work

I suspect the wallplate is an isolation type so is not passing voltage, try changing this to a direct connection.

Thanks for the suggestion Tony, I'll give it a try. Can I simply pick 1 up in any shop or is it hard to get. What exactly is it called...direct connection wallplate?

not sure exactly what you're trying to do to be honest - are you saying that you've got the output from the skybox and stuck it into what should be the input for the television if you had NTL, andon the other end, you've stuck it into another aeriel socket??
If thats the case, I suspect that there's a splitter in the line somewhere which is DC blocking. you need to find this splitter and see what it looks like. if it's got a path through it indicated on the case then you need to re-connect the cables to allow the current to pass in that direction.

You are right in that I am running it through the existing aerial co-ax connection in the wall. I thought about that so I disabled the aerial and connected the co-ax from both rooms deriecly. Even when I tried to connect the co-ax to the tv-link directly in the attic I got no power light on it.

well what i usually do is get a "blanking" wallplate from an electrical wholesaler and simply put a double F type female connector, then connect the coax using an F male connector. Technical term is "non isolating" wallplate
