Aren't bullbars illegal on new cars? Haven't they been illegal for years? Ever since it was shown that they caused significantly more injuries to pedestrians and other drivers in accidents.

I was tail-gated by some guy in a brand new Land Cruiser (pronounced - w@nk loser) sporting massive bullbars. I've seen vans around with a different style of bar too which is probably designed to get around the law. You wouldn't think it would be a hard law to enforce now would you?

Yeah - yer right - they've been illegal for quite some time I believe.

Jail the owner and seller wink.gif

Maybe the're not called "Bull-Bars" anymore and they're now called "Pedestrian-Manglers"

Some of the new Jeeps (opel fronteria) come fitted with a rubber, metal look, bull car which is prefactly acceptable.

bull bars are in most instances unnecessary unless you suffer from serious urges to rear end some poor unfortunate. the fromtera bas a re a good idea but why are we talking about the bull bar? how about the new age yuppies driving the jeeps that hold the bars, whats the facination with having an off road vehicle that will probably never see more off road situations that jumping a kerb ??

Well quite - not to mention that those poxy jeeps have their bumpers at a non-regulation height, so if you smash into one of them it'll mangle your car because its bumper won't hit yours, rather crushing your bodywork.

    Take the fcking bus.

Bullbars are exactly that. For bulls. (and other bovines!).

They are for beef/dairy farmers, and speaking as someone who's been in a Nissan Patrol while a vexed bull was running towards it, I'm happy they were on the front.

Yuppies who have them for the look are wusses.
