So i've finally saved up the cash to get a camera and i've narrowed it down to 2, the Canon EOS 300D or the cheaper Fuji s7000, i can't decide whether to go for the more expensive option or the cheaper, i've read reviews saying that the fuji can actually take better photos than the canon and reviews saying the canon is better, but i find that hard to believe considering the gulf in price but at the same time i dont want to shell out all that extra money if there isn't much of a difference between the two...so which would be the better option?

It depends if you want an SLR, personally I'd go for a 300D, I have used Fuji digitals in teh past and at the end of the day it's not the same type of camera at all.

    SLR's are infinitely upgradable
canon has a much much better image quality at high iso's

    buy the canon

between the 2 go for the Canon, i just upgraded from th S700 and while its good you miss an awful lot from SLR cameras, i went for the Nikon d70 dam good camera

Amazon seems to be cheap than a few places. The Canon 10-22mm lens is UK£85 cheaper than Jessops. Comparing the price to Conns cameras in town I can get it for €654 with shipping compared to a staggering €949 in conns.

I priced a Nikon Cool Pix 4300 around town (Dublin) a year or so ago and the prices where all crazy (€450-€600+) Komplett were €400 at the time and got it in London for €350 in the end. Never checked Amazon. Def pays to shop around.

I know people who had problems with huge delays in stuff ariving from Amazon though.

I've never had any delay myself from them. I've been researching this lens for an eternity though so a little while more won't kill me.
