I'm in a bit of a need for noise mood (as usual) so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for some really loud stuff. Not so much metal but more along the lines of Earth, SunnO))), Wolf Eyes, Throbbing Gristle, etc. I've been searching through allmusic.com but it's only throwing up the same few bands when it comes to related artists. Cheers!

If you want some Metal that isnt metal try some early Killing Joke the self titled first album from 1980 is a good place to start confusingly enough their recent comback album is also self titled not as good but still decent

Last time I heard the music they didn't really seem like any of the bands I listed above. I thought they were bog standard indie types that the NME jack off over?

I never said all indie bands were ****. I said that the music were a bog standard indie band. Much like there are bog standard artists in every genre as well as the good ones.

    Try some Nurse With Wound?

I recommend the albums 'Homotopy to Marie' and 'A Sucked Orange' for starters but all of their stuff is pretty nice.

Also, if you like Throbbing Gristle, you will most likely enjoy Monte Cazazza's work. He recorded some pretty weird-ass sh*t.....
The compilation 'Worst of Monte Cazazza' is pretty much all you need of this guy....

NWW and Monte Cazazza are two hard to find artists. I've got some mp3's of NWW and Steven Stapleton in general, very unsettling in places. I'll have a look for those albums you mentioned.

I used to like FF but they kind of annoy me now, the phrase flogging a dead horse comes to mind. Could never get into Napalm Death either. I'll have a listen to the rest though.

Alrighty-roo. But hey, if you're ever in the mood for some nice noise-rock, I heartily endorse the EP 'The Burner' by Breadwinner, it's 20 minutes of sheer bliss. You can get it from amazon.co.uk I imagine, it's fairly hard to come by in Dublin. (I feel I have to pimp this band everytime someone asks for recommendations....ah well)
