I admit I don't post here much if at all but I would just like to ask ye a question.

Do ye think that all teenagers are tarred with the same brush?

I personally think so and find this particularly in the eyes of John Law. Yes the nardi sheeakawna (I do know how to spell it correctly). For example being stopped by the Fuzz and the DS for nothing more than walking down the road. A particualarly annoying example of being stopped for nothing is this.

Two of my friends and I were walking up to the shop last Saturday evening and there is a church on the way to the shop. Just as mass let out we were walking past and what happened. You guessed it the cops stopped us ans asled were we searching for drugs in an alley near there. We said no but we had passed through and said just that. He then threatened us with a searching and we obviously protested. Keep in mind there was 50-60 people who we sort of know watching. What can we do? nothing. It looks like we did something and immediately 30% of those people will probably call the Cops the next time they see us stop for a fag or something.
If we ran, we will be chased by the cops and that makes it look even worse to the people watching.

    What am i to do?

Probably what happened was those particular Guards got out of bed the wrong side that morning - and you can't do $hit about that.

I refer to http://www.boards.ie/bulletin/Forum15/HTML/000068.html for another example of cops who should be fired instantly.

    ????

Fired for stoping a few teenagers in what was probably near a drug dealing area...???
Thats like taking offence at being stopped on the road at a checkpoint at 3am when you haven't been drinking.... or like being stopped and searched at customs if your coming back from morocco or columbia or something...or passing through the police obversation area when you fly into the UK...and they look you up and down and sideways....a minor inconvenience when you have nothing to hide or be ashamed of etc....thats all....

    Don't even think about it...™

I think he's complaining more about their attitude than being searched. It's something that we have to live with that occaisionly we will be stopped and questioned/searched by police/customs, but there's no need for the Gardai to make a big plastic hassle out of it.

The phrase "There's always one" refers to the Gardai as much as any other body. Most of them (in my experience) are helpful decent guys. The occasional bad egg is an authoritarian wannabe Nazi who probably reads too many books about the SS. That's the way it is, and sometimes you just have to grin and bear it.

It's all fun and games until someone gets a rectal cavity search, but the less said about that the better.
