Thought some of you might be interested in this article I saw over on Techseekers.ie about the new graphics card announced by Gigabyte. It features dual 6600GT gpus in SLi on a single card. The 256MB of memory is to be 256bit as opposed to 128bit on the regular 6600GT and the memory will also be clocked faster at 600MHz. Gigabyte claim it will be cheaper than both the 6800Ultra and the X850 XT PE, while besting or at least matching them in performance. The promos have graphs showing the card's 3dMark 2003 score at 14293!

That's one mean looking card! eek.gif

...The card has two of these which are connected via SLI internally...
I was thinking for a sec you could have two of them in the one system until I read thatredface.gif

Still, saves you a slot in the machine.

its 256bit cos each 6600gt has a 128bit memory bus. Same as an sli'd 6600gt would be.

Looks cool but is it just a gimmick or what?

That's true but still it's an interesting idea. Gives an SLi option to people with a single PCI-express x16 slot on their motherboard. At current pricing a pair of normal 6600GTs would set one back $500 or thereabouts, if they can go under that, it would be a very tempting option, especially if the 3dMark 2003 figures shown are accurate.
