    Lads,
This is probably a stupid question but how do you format Win XP, i dont have a floppy drive so i can stick in a boot disk. I try and start in dos, and i can only start in Safe Mode for command prompt ... and i get the volume is still in use, cant format etc.

Any help would be good !!

U have a winxp cd? Just go into BIOS and set the first boot drive to cd rom drive then put in the XP cd and reboot and go from there.

    right.. that will work..

You need to boot off a CD, any bloody CD if you are using Fat32 a windows 98 cd is enough... otherwise as was said.. bood off XP cd and you will get an option to format.

Try download hirens boot cd or something similar (use google) and boot off it as it has lots of cool tools including NTFS dos so you can format from there.. or even deltree c:\windows
