I aint had much success here in the past but i'm playing bass nearly 3 years now and i need a band. I have gig experience and i can pen the very rare lyric. Interests include Manics, Suede, Snow Patrol (before it was cool to like them), Dandy Warhols, Mercury Rev, Flaming Lips, The Hives, Jesus and Mary Chain and recently i have been listening to Hope Sandoval. I'd prefer a gig-smart band with some stuff ready for rehearsal but if anyone who can play any instrument wants to contact me and try set up a band from scratch i'd be willing to give it a go too.

Snow Patrol (before it was cool to like them)

What a pointless outlook on music

Hey I'm a vocalist and I'm intrested. I'm 16 and I'm based in south Dublin but I'm willing to travel and I'm prepared to work around your schedule. Influences are what you'd expect and I get what you mean about Snow Patrol. I don't have anything ready to rehearse but I'm willing to work hard and fast and get practising soon. It's a bit of a long shot, but even if your not intrested let me know. Thanks.

IInterests include Snow Patrol (before it was cool to like them),

surely it's cooler being into Snow Patrol before they became popular?

re: your other interests - commendable but when exactly did you get into them?

i.e. are you a Yerself Is Steam or Deserter's Songs Mercury Rev fan?

or did you see the Jesus & Mary Chain in the SFX in 1987 touring Darklands. Support was from The Motorcycle Boy. A great gig it was too.

or the Manics in the Mansion House, Waterford in 1991.

do you see what I'm getting at?

thanks for getting what i meant. as regards the rest... i got into mercury rev through a lend of both boces and deserters songs at the same time, like all their stuff and had to get yerself specially ordered from virgin on the quays which is now gone, sadly. i got into the manics (first band i liked when i was 16) through a lend of the holy bible which is still my favourite album of all time and their list of influences got me into the jesus and mary chain. i'm only 20 so i think i was in playschool when jamc were touring darklands! i wish i could have been there or the manics gig or a good old nose-bleeding my bloody valentine set but they were just a wee bit before my time. i hope i'm hardcore, lol! the reason i mentioned that with snow patrol is because i saw them 4 years ago at witnness when nobody knew who the hell they were or why a guitar band had scratching effects and thought they were great and indeed though i like final straw, i will always hold the first 2 albums in higher regard. i thought the dvd was a shame, containing 3 or 4 songs from when its all over, a reindeer section classic and a b-side, then it was pure final straw badly mixed to make the music quiet and the vocals loud. only the tour diaries saved it for me.
