People can convince them selves of anything, especially when they want it to be true. Ever heard of the placebo effect? This is why double blind studies are the gold standard in medical testing.
On another note, a mate of mine has all Dillmans videos, so I better not piss him off? He's shown me a few bits but would he be able to do it to me as I tried to rip his head off? I really doubt it. Who leaves there arm out to be hit and then lets the guy hit them in the neck? Weak attack and compliant Uke = Not Much to be honest. If he could do this to ,say, Brian O'Driscoll, when you've told Brian "that guy has the ball". I'd be well impressed!
Other than that, acupressure and accupuncture have some effect, but not one I will rely on to save my ass thanks!

Didnt look at the clip but I presume its the Fox TV report where he can touchless knock out all of his students but he tries it on the reporter and fails and then goes to a BJJ gym and it doenst do a thing to them. LMAO!

If it's the Fox clip, it's quality entertainment alright. I think it shows more about the power of suggestion and the instructor's influence over his own students than anything about real pressure-point fighting.

That's not to say that pressure-point fighting is a useless endeavour. In fact, it's something I have a fair bit of interest in and hope to be able to study in a bit more detail some time. But I'll be taking it with a nice big spoon of skepticism when I do. And that's a whole other topic...
I studied Dim Mak for awhile but gave it up once I discovered internet forums. It started to become to hard to type posts, I would type them but they wouldn't show up for a week!

I saw yer' man on Ripleys and though he was full of Sh*te. Even though I belive in Pain Points. Not the mystical BS that is lashed around about them though.

I have trained (and will be grading hopfully)with Prof. Rick Clarke who has a practical approach to this subject in that he has a "hit here to get access to here" way to it. He does'int use the TCM refs as much as "On some people this hurts!"and "If it don't it seems to open them up anyway for this..."

What happens alot it seems is that people concentrate so much on the "Stick your arm out and I'll hit you" training that they never try the "Come at me to take my head off and see what happens" training. This gives them a false comfort with the subject, as it was not tested.

On the student thing...it's a bit like a lot of AiKI-Do demo's the Uke is half way in the air before the defender even touches them  His students look like the result of a filtering system that involved just doing PP's all the time and if you did'int feel the results then you fecked off.

Derrin Brown went to a dojo in london and did stuff like this(punched the air and a guy 10 feet away fell over, it's all power of suggestion. Pretty cool if you could do it but theres no magical chi force flying through the air.
